Our client is a well recognized brand in Vancouver, looking for someone to oversee their accounting area.
This would be a hands-on Manager or Controller level position, working closely with the operations and leadership team.
This role oversees the daily operations of the accounting department and ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting. This role manages accounting staff, maintains internal controls, supports budgeting and audit processes, and assists leadership with strategic financial analysis and planning.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Develop and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
- Lead and mentor accounting team members, providing training and performance feedback.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Other as required.
- Post secondary in Accounting or related
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi task
- Experience being a hands-on accounting leader, supporting the team, working on tactical and strategic functions
