We are looking for an Embedded Electronics Engineer with strong hardware design capability and enough embedded software depth to comfortably work across the hardware-firmware boundary. This person will play a key role in the development of new products, improvement of existing designs, and support of production, test, and certification activities.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small, fast-moving engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of new electronic hardware and support updates, improvements, and cost or reliability optimization of existing designs.
- Design mixed-signal, digital, analog, power, and embedded control circuits for rugged, production-ready products.
- Support work related to bootloaders, device trees, BSPs, embedded Linux platforms, and low-level firmware environments.
- Develop and maintain low-level code in C.
- Participate in product debugging, root cause investigation, and failure analysis, proposing and implementing corrective improvements to enhance product stability, manufacturability, and lifespan.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure robust and well-integrated product development.
- Support compliance and certification work, including design reviews, documentation, test preparation, pre-compliance evaluation, issue investigation, and corrective actions.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. (3-5 years minimum).
- Strong experience in embedded hardware design and development, from concept through bring-up and production support.
- Proficiency with industry-standard ECAD tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
- Strong understanding of schematic capture, PCB design, layout constraints, signal integrity fundamentals, power integrity, grounding, EMI-conscious design, and component selection.
- Practical experience with common embedded interfaces and buses such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, PCIe, CAN and related subsystems.
