Are you an accomplished grower who leads from the front - raising standards, developing people, and delivering consistent quality at scale?
A top Canadian nursery is hiring a Head Grower to own production from transplant through shipment. You’ll lead growers, supervisors, and crews across irrigation, maintenance, sanitation, and shipping to achieve best-in-class quality, efficiency, and plant health.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead growing, irrigation, environmental services, maintenance, and shipping operations
- Develop and manage chemical, biological, and cultural control programs; uphold sanitation and SOPs
- Optimize water, nutrition, weed, pest, and disease management for superior growth and appearance
- Plan labor, prioritize tasks, and ensure on-time, efficient execution; communicate priorities daily
- Maintain inventories (fertilizers, pesticides, containers, racks, equipment) and pursue process/tech improvements
- A hands-on production leader who motivates teams and sets a high bar
- Operationally sharp, safety-minded, and relentlessly quality-focused
- A clear, steady communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- 5+ years of nursery experience with proven leadership in container production
- Horticulture diploma/degree; outstanding plant knowledge
- Proficiency with MS Office, inventory systems, and online meeting tools
- Class 5 driver’s license; First Aid is an asset
