Our client, a very successful privately owned company in the health care industry with nearly 250 employees in the US and Canada is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join their team in Bellingham, WA to provide HR support to their expanding local team (currently 60 employees). The successful candidate will be joining a highly respected organization with passionate team who are very proud of the work they do every day.

They are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Human Resources Specialist to manage everything from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement/relations, to payroll accuracy and safety compliance in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the full onboarding process: from offer acceptance through orientation and first-week setup.
  • Track the employee lifecycle, including introductory-period follow-ups, status changes, and offboarding documentation.
  • Post and manage recruitment activities
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Review and manage employee timecards for accuracy and support payroll preparation
  • Maintain audit-ready HR records
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, Washington State, and local employment requirements.
  • Support OSHA and workplace safety activities
  • Support the Practice Manager with coaching, corrective action processes, and workplace concerns.
  • Recognize and promptly escalate high-risk matters
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State (WA) employment laws and standards
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information with extreme confidentiality.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
