Manufacturing Operations Manager

Our client, is looking for a Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the complete operations of their plants in both Calgary and Edmonton.
Reporting to the Director of Operations in Ontario, you will manage multiple areas of these plants including manufacturing, warehousing, maintenance and quality.

We are seeking a leader who has substantial experience from an industrial high volume, high mix, batch manufacturing environment. Someone with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement, building strong teams and ensuring the customers are looked after.
Specific responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Ensuring that plant labor and leadership is carrying out activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Production orders are met on a daily basis while planning for future volumes
  • Respecting the quality criteria and procedures are in place
  • Respecting standards of efficiency and seeking methods and strategies to improve
  • Ensure objectives and KPI’s are achieved at both corporate and plant levels
  • Manage daily operations in an inclusive, ethical and environmentally friendly manner
  • Provide high levels of leadership and mentorship for your supervisors and managers
IDEAL CANDIDATE: This is a demanding position requiring a substantial amount of travel. Your mix of people leadership, manufacturing knowledge and financial acumen will combine to be very important in this role.
In order to qualify for this role, you must have at minimum:
  • Formal education or professional certification in production management, business management or any other discipline related to the position or other equivalent experience
  • 8 years minimum of senior level production or plant management experience
  • Solid organizational and analytical skills
  • Advanced communication skills both written and verbal
  • Previous experience implementing new programs and change management
  • Capability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the Internet)
  • Preference to individuals with LEAN manufacturing
