Assistant Brand Manager - CPG Food Products

Our client is a long standing manufacturer of the finest quality food products sold in retail stores across North America. Due to exceptional sales growth into new markets our client is augmenting their marketing team with an Assistant Brand Manager. This analytically oriented role will be a critical contributor to the success of the sales team by interpreting consumer purchase data sets including IRI and Nielsen and work to prepare trade marketing collateral to drive unit sales. This role reports to a Senior Brand Manager and is perfect for the consumer products marketer seeking a strong career growth oriented role with a growing team in a very collaborative environment.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Data analysis, identifies, margin and category opportunities
  • Provides recommendations to Brand Manager and sales team by reviewing specific KPIs
  • Champions efficient forecasting and planning through analysis and makes appropriate recommendations based on them
  • Collaborative in style and provides support to the marketing team
  • Flexible and adapts easily to an evolving brand in an ad-hoc manner
  • Brand and Category Management using tools including: IRI, Toolbox, Top Shelf, Nielsen, Mintel, etc.
  • Price audits through store visits, gap analysis, presentation preparation
  • Utilize data to create evidence-based insights on compelling brand and product stories for use in marketing and sales tools
  • Develop and execute business-building consumer and shopper initiatives across multiple channels including in-store, experiential, grassroots campaigns, and digital platforms with the marketing team
  • Work cross functionally to develop your skills and grow the business through increased organizational learning
You should have the following in your background to apply:
  • Post secondary education in business or marketing
  • 2+ years marketing in experience in a consumer product oriented role
  • Strong skills in MS Office and experience with POS portals such as IRI, Nielsen, Retail Link, Top Shelf or Tool box
  • Ability to collaboratively work on forecasting and pricing models
  • Experience with consumer datasets such Nielsen, Homescan, Mintel
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills, with ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a high rate of productivity in a fast-paced environment, both from home or from the office
