Our Client is a well-established and progressive leader with a long history of providing superior third-party logistical solutions to its customers. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results driven individual to join their organization as the Assistant General Manager.

In this role you will drive the company closer to becoming a world class leader by effectively planning, monitoring and leading improvement in all operations, including safety, quality, employee relations, on-time delivery, productivity, efficiency, training and organizational development.

Specifically the AGM will;

  • Act as the control point for Operations functions and represent the organization as an ambassador of improvement activities and promotion of a safe environment throughout the organization.
  • Assist Operations in developing the technical and operating capabilities of its personnel through suitably administered training programs and adapt the programs for optimal effectiveness
  • Monitor daily shift performance with respect to production, logistics output and review data to work with Department Managers to develop and implement strategies to improve in accordance with KPI’s.
  • Act as the communications conduit between client, corporate offices and tactical teams
  • Work with Mangers to monitor Operations for safety, environmental, and housekeeping concerns and ensure action is taken to protect the health and welfare of employees and the environment
  • Work with Department Managers to ensure appropriate scheduling and availability of resources such that Customers’ requirements are met on time, on spec and at the lowest possible cost
  • Develop relationships with clients and manage expectations and conduct problem solving

IDEAL CANDIDATE: This is a demanding position which requires an identifiable track record of management experience and profitable results in a competitive and Just-In-Time DSD environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10 years plus of senior management level experience within warehousing / distribution
  • Experience maintaining a highly capitalized and complex operation
  • Post-secondary education in management or supply chain is preferred
  • Proven experience in managing people and priorities in a unionized environment.
  • Education and training in Safety and Quality
