A leading Canadian nursery is seeking an Assistant Grower to help execute daily production, greenhouse management, and IPM practices to ensure outstanding quality and plant health.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor irrigation, fertilization, sanitation, cultural practices, and overall plant health; flag issues and act quickly
- Support and supervise crews engaged in production and maintenance
- Maintain strict cleanliness and disease prevention across houses, racks, trays, and work areas
- Assist with pest monitoring and applying appropriate control treatments
- Tackle other production-related tasks as needed to meet quality and delivery goals
- A dependable team player who enjoys working outdoors and getting results
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and proactive with communication
- Comfortable with physical work (standing, walking, lifting) in all weather conditions
- 2+ years of nursery/greenhouse experience; horticulture diploma/degree preferred
- Solid plant knowledge and basic tech skills (MS Office; inventory systems; Zoom)
- Class 5 driver’s license; First Aid is an asset
