MacDonald Search Group is very happy to partner with Canada’s leading service provider in it's niche industry in their search for a fluent French and English speaking HR Generalist to provide support for their Eastern Canadian region! In business for 40 years, now with 1100 employees this is a great time to join this very successful and still growing organization! Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role will ideally be based at the head office in Vancouver but candidates located in Toronto or Ottawa will also be considered.. The successful candidate will take on a broad scope of responsibility as both a Business Partner to the management and leadership teams and a “go-to” person providing support for front-line employees.

What you will be doing:
  • Contributing to the development of HR policies and procedures
  • Guiding to Managers and Employees on HR programs, practices and policy interpretation
  • Supporting managers on employee development initiatives
  • Supporting performance appraisals and reviews
  • Analysis and reporting of HR metrics such as recruitment turnover/retention, productivity, learning and other KPIs
  • Supporting the improvement of training and development programs
  • Supporting talent acquisition activities
  • Development of recognition programs
  • Coordinating termination of employment processes
  • Conducting exit interviews
  • Participating in onboarding and orientation activities
  • Working with HSE team to drive a safe company culture
  • Project related duties as required
Who you are:
  • You are fluent in French and English in both written and spoken forms
  • You have a degree or diploma in HR or an otherwise relevant field
  • You have your CPHR certification or are working toward its completion
  • You have five years of relevant experience ideally in a related industry
  • You have knowledge of provincial legislation (ideally in multiple provinces) and employment law
  • You have experience in a multi-unit operational environment
  • You are computer savvy with experience using Microsoft Office products (advanced excel preferred) and have experience using an HRIS system
  • You have OHS regulation and worker’s compensation knowledge
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well in a team-oriented environment, and bring integrity and positivity to work everyday
