They are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead and grow a high-visibility territory south of the Fraser River. This is a frontline leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced retail environments, knows how to win space and influence execution, and can coach a team to deliver measurable results.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
- Lead, coach, and develop Independent Contractors to achieve sales and expense targets
- Drive account development initiatives including distribution expansion, merchandising excellence, promotional execution, and space optimization
- Conduct regular route rides and field work-withs to identify growth opportunities and improve performance
- Increase market penetration through strategic route planning and territory optimization
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail grocery partners and key decision makers
- Monitor competitive activity and respond quickly with proactive sales strategies
- Ensure alignment with operational, financial, and asset management policies
- Recruit, develop, and build bench strength within the sales team to support long-term growth
- Manage budgets and expenses including trade spending, samples, display equipment, fleet, and travel
- Minimum 2 years of consumer packaged goods sales experience
- Strong knowledge of retail grocery and food distribution networks
- Proven track record of leading and developing sales teams
- Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and drive account growth
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, front-line sales leadership environment
- Strong planning, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems
- High integrity, strong business acumen, and a competitive drive for results
