Job Description
They are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our client’s team in Calgary and its surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships between clients and the company by developing and implementing sales strategies in partnership with the senior management team. The main objective of the Business Development Manager will be to boost the visibility of Mobile Storage and sell their products in Alberta through various business efforts.

This role is focused on increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones (both hunting and farming). “Hunting” is gaining new business through prospecting, cultivating, and pursuing new customers (customer acquisition). “Farming” is nurturing an existing customer base to identify opportunities, and develop long-term relationships (customer retention).
Some of what you’ll do in this role includes:
- Develop market and sales strategies to grow market share in the designated territory
- Cross-collaborate with all departments to ensure clients receive exceptional service
- Attend and deliver presentations, webinars, and trade shows
- Become a point of contact for subject matter topics in your market
- Measure success in opportunities by utilizing KPI metrics and tools
- Identify and contact potential clients through networking and marketing methods
- Collaboration on marketing or advertising campaigns
- Collaboration with sales departments and other teams to meet targets
- Create sales presentations for potential clients
You should have the following in your background to apply:
- 4+ years of working experience in a BDM role
- Resides in the Calgary, Alberta area and is willing to travel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A bachelor’s degree in business or technical field could be an advantage
- Highly motivated to build and grow a book of business
- Must have a vehicle and driver's license to attend client meetings
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to plan and organize sales presentations, meetings, marketing strategies, and more
- Knowledge of company financial data and the ability to analyze it
- Familiar with social media, industry publications, and competitors of the company
- A good understanding of how market research works and what results mean for a business
- Knowledge in preparing company budgets
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software
