Butcher and Butcher Lead Hand Roles

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our client’s team in the Lower Mainland, BC area. There is also a Butcher Lead position available.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with various cuts of meat, ensuring quality and precision in all aspects of butchery. This role involves preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products while adhering to safety and hygiene standards. The Butcher will also play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform precise and efficient butchery tasks, including cutting, trimming, and deboning meats.
  • Ensure the quality of all meat products by adhering to established standards and specifications.
  • Receive and inspect meat deliveries to verify quantity and quality.
  • Operate and maintain department equipment, ensuring safety and functionality.
  • Collaborate with other team members to fulfill customer orders and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Uphold hygiene and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Manage inventory and keep accurate records of meat products, minimizing waste.
  • Stay informed about current industry trends, cuts, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Butcher, with a strong understanding of meat cuts and processing.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and handle heavy cuts of meat.
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Salary - $23 - 32 / hour
