Our cannabis client is building their newly formed business from the ground up. With a strong leadership roster and roots in the Beverage Alcohol category, this company is one to watch for the coming years. With their burgeoning business, our client is seeking a talented Sales Director to handle their business on the Prairies from Alberta.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Management of direct reports which include:
o Trade Marketing Manager
o Sales Coordinator
o Six Territory Managers
  • The education, training and development of all individuals under your supervision.
  • Creating a forecast for annual volumes/revenue in the forecasting system.
  • Creating and presenting business reviews to the executive on a regular basis.
  • Working closely with marketing team on creation of Licensed Producers (LP's) business plans.
  • Manage Travel and Entertainment budgets.
  • Approve and monitor expenses from all reporting employees.
  • Manage and maintain P&L.
  • Constantly review forecast/plan and provide updated latest estimates to plan.
  • Understand and utilize CRM tool to:
    • Create clear objectives in line with National Priorities for the sales team.
    • Create clear objectives in line with LP's brand priorities.
    • Track, rank and publish all sales objectives.
  • Use CRM and analytics tools to develop and monitor our priorities and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular market surveys to inspect what you expect from the sales team.
  • Design and implement regular meetings with the sales team to ensure a clear understanding of all objectives.
  • Analyze all market trends" In conjunction with marketing team create and implement new brand launch plans
  • Present updates on portfolio strategies and suggestions.
  • Educate on market trends and competitive sales data.
  • Hosting market visits with suppliers:
  • Booking and attending meetings with buyers.
  • Creating and presenting business reviews to LP's.
  • Creating sales presentations for LP's to review with buyers.
  • Market survey of accounts.
To apply for this role, you should have most of the following in your background:
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Seven plus year of experience in sales with at least five years of managerial experience in the consumer package goods/tobacco /beverage alcohol industry"
  • Understanding of Cannabis industry.
  • Computer literacy essential."
  • Ability to build strong analytical presentations essential
