Chief Engineer – Saskatoon, SK

Our client, an incredibly resourceful and innovative organization that operates industrial processing facilities across Canada is looking for a Chief Engineer. We are looking for a 2nd Class Power engineer with strong technical knowledge and fantastic leadership skills.

The right person will be responsible over the next few months for bringing all power and boiler systems relating to production operations back on line. Plant operations ceased a few years ago due to a re-allocation of work among plants. But with a new client coming aboard and an increase in total volume within the company, production capacity is needed and this plant is back in action.

Once the facility is up and running this role will transition to manage and coordinate all maintenance and operational activities pertaining to all boilers, steam systems and power. This role will become the ambassador for a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly atmosphere while ensuring compliance to provincial and federal legislation.

Specifically, the successful candidate will have:
  • a Second-Class Power Engineer certification valid in Alberta
  • min. 5 years relative experience, including leadership in a supervisory role
  • the desire to continuously improve and drive innovation
  • a proven record of execution of preventative and systematic maintenance
  • the ability to prepare and present recommendations
  • extremely strong organizational and analytical skills
  • must be organized, well-spoken and familiar with a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience with a start-up or system commissioning would be a substantial asset
