Counter Customer Service Representative

MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our Electrical distribution client to find a first class Counter Customer Service Representative to join their team in Ottawa. The primary responsibility of this role will be to provide exceptional customer service by effectively handling customer inquiries, processing orders, and delivering high-quality support to meet client expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Sell merchandise to customers over the counter while ensuring a positive and high-quality customer experience.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on product selection and application.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by adhering to safety and operational standards.
  • Assist with warehouse tasks, including receiving, picking, and shipping products as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track stock-out items, and recommend replenishment to maintain optimal stock.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12 education with 1–3 years of customer service or warehouse experience in a distribution setting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of data, communications, and electrical products is an asset.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer loyalty.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge.
