Strategic Human Resources Director

Langley, British Columbia

Our client is a growing and well-established food manufacturing company with approximately 300 employees and annual revenues of $75 million. With strong momentum and continued expansion plans, the organization is creating a new Strategic Human Resources Director role to help build the people infrastructure required for the next chapter of growth.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves. The successful candidate will bring the ability to think strategically, build practical people programs, and personally execute key initiatives in a fast-paced operating environment. This is not a sit-back leadership role. It requires a builder who can move from boardroom planning to plant floor execution with confidence.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Develop and lead the company's people strategy aligned to growth, productivity, culture, and succession goals.
  • Build scalable HR programs across talent acquisition, onboarding, engagement, performance management, leadership development, and retention.
  • Partner closely with ownership and senior leaders as a trusted advisor on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Provide hands-on leadership for employee relations, investigations, coaching, policy development, and performance matters.
  • Enhance compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs to remain competitive and practical.
  • Ensure compliance with employment standards, health and safety obligations, and HR best practices.
  • Strengthen internal communication, culture initiatives, and leadership capability across the organization.
  • Establish meaningful HR metrics, reporting, and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Support operational leaders in both office and manufacturing environments.
You should have the following in your background to be successful:
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing, food production, distribution, or another operational environment.
  • Proven success building HR programs and processes in growth-oriented companies.
  • Strong working knowledge of British Columbia employment law and HR best practices.
  • Comfortable operating as both strategist and doer.
  • Demonstrated strength in coaching leaders, influencing decisions, and driving accountability.
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting hourly and salaried employee populations is strongly preferred.
What's in it for me?
  • Opportunity to create and shape a newly formed senior HR leadership role.
  • Direct impact on company growth, culture, and leadership capability.
  • Join a stable and entrepreneurial Canadian business with strong momentum.
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary of $140,000 to $170,000 plus bonus and benefits, depending on experience.
