Director of Operations

Our client is a multi-site distribution company based out of the Lower Mainland, BC area.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of management team functions of Operations and Logistics for multiple facilities
  • Provides managerial direction and leadership to all departments within the DCs.
  • Management, leadership and development of all aspects around people, staffing and development for the team
  • Review, develop and implement policy and procedural changes for the relevant departments
  • Responsible for Health and Safety of facilities
  • Participate in training, inspection, investigation and continuous improvement programs.
  • Foster an environment of positive employee relations and employee engagement
  • Lead strategic plan and develop strategy for operation efficiencies
  • Make recommendations for and execute on strategic initiatives to improve efficiency
  • Work with all internal stakeholders to effectively achieve business goals
  • Budget accountability and development support
  • Other as required
Requirements:
  • Post secondary education in a related field – business, supply chain, operations
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a similar leadership role (Director level ideally) in a distribution environment with multiple facilities
  • Experience developing teams and coaching staff
  • Possesses excellent people management skills
  • Excellent systems experience
  • Strong, interactive team player
  • Integrative thinker and excellent problem-solving skills
  • High initiative, self-motivation and strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely reports
