Our client, a privately held Canadian leader has been delivering sustainable water solutions for over 30 years. Over that time they have developed unparalleled expertise and technical proficiency that allows them to deliver custom water solutions across industries and business sizes. They are currently seeking a Director of Plumbing & Commercial to help facilitate their next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the COO, this role will work closely with senior management to develop and execute the long-term strategy of the department, both within the organization and the marketplace. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s residential and commercial plumbing functions.

Responsibilities
  • As a key member of the leadership team collaborates with Sales, Sales Operations, and Operations to support the overall success of the Plumbing Services/Commercial business.
  • Develop and execute on budgets, short term and long-term goals for the departments.
  • Responsible for establishing relationships with key PS customers with over-site of development and execution of delivering proposals and quotations.
  • Establish key relationships with existing Commercial customers.
  • Negotiations for the supply of services and products with sub-contractors and plumbing wholesalers.
  • Revise/formulate procedures within the department and apply improvements as necessary.
  • Oversee a team of coordinators, plumbers, and contractors to ensure jobs are completed within budget, on time, and up to standards.
  • Ensure customer quotes are prepared accurately and with appropriate margins.
  • Ensure that all staff are appropriately trained, their skills are developed and appropriate H&S programs are developed.
  • Create and execute a business development plan to attract and retain new customers.

Skills/Experience
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working in a senior managerial role within the plumbing/construction industry preferred.
  • Developed leadership skills with experience in managing a team of up to 20 people.
  • Experience working with proposals that show project cost/savings analysis to support written reports which communicate customers ROI.
  • Track record of establishing processes and procedures to monitor the utilization of labour and assets.
  • Extensive understanding of commercial plumbing products and asset.
  • Licensed plumber in the province of Ontario an asset.
  • Experience creating and implementing process change.
  • Experience managing large plumbing & or related construction jobs.
