The Director of Sales, Western Canada will have full accountability for the strategic leadership and direction of business development in Western Canada. Leading a team of experienced district sales professionals, the Director will establish credibility and build on the successes and existing relationships of the sales team, and inspire that team to embrace opportunities for company growth and increased dominance in its market.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the current state of the overall business relative to the competitive environment, market conditions and the strategic objectives established for the Western provinces
  • Coach and hold the team accountable to achieve their KPI’s, while diligently managing operational costs and expenditures
  • Grow market-share by staying ahead of competition, improving sales training and develop proper segmentation of customers
  • Play an active role in the team adoption of Salesforce, providing input in key metrics to be measured and support the team in training to use
  • Identify targeted areas for further market penetration, including additional service offerings within existing customer base and through the identification of new prospects
  • Drive the development and maintenance of key customer relationships and foster the development and implementation of strategies for expanding the company’s customer base
  • In collaboration with the Sales VP (Canada), work with senior management and finance to establish annual sales, margin, and expense budgets
  • In collaboration with the Sales VP (Canada) develop and execute Regional Plans that map current market conditions, set objectives and clearly identify strategies to achieve those objectives, including Account planning and prospecting

  • 8+ years’ experience building and leading front-line sales teams
  • Track record of consistently meeting/exceeding sales quotas personally and as a sales leader
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and lead a professional sales team
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills; ability to build strong business partnerships both outside, and within the organization
  • Proven success adapting in fast-growing and changing environments
  • Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Skilled at business planning and diligent at measuring and communicating progress towards the plan, identifying roadblocks, and coming up with appropriate solutions
  • Experience working in industrial sales, heavy duty parts, equipment, MRO, or OEM sales is an asset
