OPPORTUNITY!

Our client a leading global industrial manufacturer with a site in Brampton is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to manage and oversee supply chain operations including purchasing and inventory.

In this position you will make recommendations to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations to meet customer commitments. This is a newly created position in the business, due to continued growth in their supply chain operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the activities of the Purchasing functions to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures. Assist in problem solving activities as required.
  • Manage the Sales and Planning process which coordinates purchasing activity with Principal Managers and fosters the interaction between Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure proper inventory amounts are maintained to meet customer requirements.
  • Use data analysis, business intelligence, forecasting and reporting tools to optimize stock levels and forecast supply needs, to ensure that inventory can be shipped to customers on time and in full while minimizing slow/dead stock.
  • Manage the reporting of Key Performance Indicators related to excess stock, obsolete and slow-moving inventory, stock-on-hold, receiving alerts and stock reserved for key customers.
  • Participate in the resolution of NCR’s related to Supply Chain which may include investigation and follow-up on corrective action.
  • Manage and coordinate the development of purchasing policies and procedures and the activities of the Supply Chain department to assure economic utilization of people and resources. Maintain the integrity of the procedure documents and ensure that employees are fully trained.
  • Manage the ROP review process with input from Sales and Marketing.
  • Review and manage stocking locations to ensure ROPs are set at the right warehouses to optimize OTIF and minimize stock.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Degree or Diploma in Business or related Supply Chain field.
  • APICs, CPIM, or other related professional certification.
  • 8-10 years of supply chain experience in a distribution/logistics environment.
  • 4-8 years of supply chain management experience.
  • Demonstrated management and group leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain planning processes and logistics management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
Preferred:
  • Exposure to the chemical and 3PL industries would be a definite asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset.
  • Good financial and business awareness.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management systems such as track-and-trace and forecasting systems, including implementation experience.
