Overview
An established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Drafter to support production and project-based mechanical design work. This role is responsible for producing accurate shop drawings, bills of materials, and related documentation to ensure smooth order flow and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed shop drawings, cut sheets, and work orders for new projects
- Create and update drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD/DraftSight
- Prepare bills of materials and supporting documentation
- Review drawings prior to release to production
- Maintain organized electronic project files
- Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, estimating, and production teams
- Identify opportunities to improve drafting processes and workflow
- Mechanical Engineering diploma
- 5+ years of drafting experience, ideally within piping or mechanical systems
- 5+ years of SolidWorks (3D modeling) experience
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Machine shop experience considered an asset
