Environmental Engineer / Environmental Team Lead

Our client, has been able to diversify and deliver a wide spectrum of field services to the oil and gas sectors in both Canada and the USA. As they continue to grow, they are looking to add a rockstar to the Calgary office to lead a group of environmental engineers and field operations staff. We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished professional to oversee the design, implementation, and management of environmental engineering and operations projects in the Environmental and Abandonment industry

You will have accountability for client portfolios, and provide leadership and technical guidance to teams on downhole abandonment, cut and cap operations and wellsite reclamations. Your passion to work with customers and manage high functioning project teams in order to deliver projects on time, on budget and on spec makes you an ideal fit.

In this role you will:
  • Develop and implement environmental plans for reclamation and abandonment projects.
  • Conduct field inspections to assess environmental impacts and ensure compliance with company and legislative standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement environmental training programs.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, including coordination with geologists, drilling engineers.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans
  • Manage budgets, timelines and communications with stakeholders on numerous projects

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental engineering.
  • Five plus years of experience in environmental engineering and field operations in oil and gas.
  • Strong knowledge of downhole abandonments, cut and cap operations, and wellsite reclamation.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations in both Canada and the USA.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring and sampling techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.
