Job description
Our client is Canada’s fastest growing generic pharmaceutical company, and they are looking for an ambitious and driven Sales Manager to join the TEAM. This new role will report directly to the Sales Director of Western Canada.

Job Responsibilities
The Western Sales Manager is responsible for the training and support of the Sales Representatives in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This position will require a strong leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves and excel in a player-coach role. The role will require the manager to be in the field on a daily basis.

  • Deliver on regional top line targets and profitability targets established in the annual business plan
  • Execute short and long-term business growth strategy that drives increased sales, market share and or market growth opportunities
  • Implement regional sales programs by identifying customer needs and developing corresponding field action plans
  • Be present for and assist in all initial representative onboarding and training
  • Develop and train the sales team from the field through regular coaching, development, motivation and accountability
  • Provide honest and consistent feedback during co-ride days followed up with Field Contact Letters and quarterly reviews to each team member
  • Assist management in the recruitment and interview process of a candidate
  • Attend all industry events and be a strong positive symbol of the brand
  • Gain market insights through interaction with customers, regulators and industry experts; develop a keen understanding of problems, needs, and translate into possible solutions
  • Analyze macro environment, competitive landscape, market and industry trends to identify and evaluate opportunities for increased revenue and market growth
  • Poses and continually develop an in-depth understanding of the competitive environment
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
  • Manage all product launches with reps
  • Assist Sales Director to build strong relationships with the head of the regional Banners, Buying Groups and multi-store groups
  • Analyze and report sales results against forecast/targets to senior management as well as any adjustments made to business plans to ensure objectives are met. Monitor business progress, identify key learnings and initiate indicated actions as necessary
  • Manage regional sales expense budget – review and approve expense reports Work collaboratively with (and act as liaison to) key account manager, finance, supply chain, customer service and marketing

You must have:
  • University degree
  • Minimum 5 years proven sales success in an outside territory management role (preferably in the pharmaceutical industry)
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Valid driver’s license
