Our client is an industry leader in the manufacturing food & beverage space. They are looking for a HR Business Partner in Michigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective HR plant leadership, support managers to recruit, retain, develop & motivate high quality staff to enable them to achieve organizational objectives. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources while partnering with the local plant leadership team in addition to other HRPB's in North America.
Responsibilities:
- Directly manage 1 HR Generalists & 1 HR Admin.
- Day to Day Employee Relations. (420 employees)
- Ensure comprehensive understanding of and adherence to all HR policies and procedures.
- Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop a team environment promoting internal growth.
- High level of accountability, quality and innovation (strives for high performance, emphasizes problem prevention, develops ideas for improvement, document new processes, ensures accuracy of information).
- Confident, motivated, flexible attitude.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner, given limited time frames.
- Comfortable working independently and showing initiative.
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent with a concentration in HR.
- Human Resource designation would be an asset.
- Plant Manufacturing HR experience preferred.
- 5 + years HR Generalist/Manager experience.
- Working knowledge of Unions & Labour Relations/Negotiations.
- Experience with an HRIS system and Microsoft tools.
