Our client, a specialty food processor is actively searching for a Human Resources Manager to support all aspects of their plant operation in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the leadership team and be tasked with developing and implementing foundational HR policy. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate all human resource activities for a team of 15 salaried employees and over 250 plant employees.
The plant operates from Monday to Friday between the hours 5.30 am to 4.30 pm. There are two direct reports currently, an HR advisor and an office administrator. There is a second location under a feasibility study which would likely lead to the expansion of this role’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Union to promote a harmonious relationship between management, union, and employee
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and rules in compliance with the Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Act and all applicable OHS legislation
  • Coordinate new employee orientation
  • Measure, report, and improve HR metrics monthly
  • Ensure employee performance reviews are conducted and actioned
  • Ensure all employees training is conducted and tracked
  • Development and implementation of employee retention strategies
  • Responsible for posting & recruitment of positions up to the Senior Management level
  • Execution of the business plan with respect to HR deliverables
  • Administer and interpret the collective bargaining agreement
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees
  • Manage any time loss and medical cost claims for TCP
  • Always promote adherence to HACCP/CFIA regulations and best practices
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Business degree/diploma with a focus in HR
  • CHRP designation considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in Human Resources
  • Experience working within a unionized environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information
