MacDonald Search Group is proud to partner with one of the world's largest building materials manufacturers, in its search for a Human Resources Business Partner to support the supervisors and management at multiple sites in California, Oregon, and Washington. This is an opportunity for an experienced HR professional to put their skillset to work in a complex and dynamic environment. Based out of the Redmond WA office and reporting to the Human Resources Manager for the Pacific Northwest, you will contribute to the design, support and delivery of the HR strategy, processes and policies. What you will be doing:
  • Participate in regional HR initiatives to achieve corporate strategic goals including ownership of designated special projects
  • Execute full cycle HR Business Partner activities (i.e. exit interviews, site function reviews, investigations, interviews, training compliance, onboarding, employee relations, unemployment claims) and other assigned tasks.
  • Partner with the management in support of their HR needs
  • Integrate and partner with colleagues in Talent Management, Compensation, Legal and Employee Services to deliver solutions and execute on tasks
  • Partner with Labor Relations on union contract and employees matters
  • Advise and counsel management in area of company policy, employment standards, local, state, and federal employment requirements, and related legislation
  • Regularly provide on-site business support to management and employees
  • Continuously improve employee engagement, experience, performance, and retention
  • Work with managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues
  • Review data to identify trends and make recommendations to improve business performance
  • Advance the company’s diversity and inclusion goals
  • Support the company’s leave and accommodation processes
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent
  • Minimum four years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Business Partner
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels
  • Knowledge of local, state (CA, OR, WA) and federal labor and employment legislation
  • Proven analytical and data driven approach
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Consistently bring an optimistic, energetic, and solution-oriented approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (minimum intermediate expertise with Excel)
  • Experience with Workday, SAP, JDE or other HRIS system a plus
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment an asset
  • Able to travel 25% of the time – some of which is overnight
