What you will be doing:
  • At the direction of the Human Resources and Health and Safety leadership, you will lead local day to day activities in the Surrey site
  • Supporting hiring managers in recruitment and retention efforts
  • Working with leadership to prepare arbitration cases and attending grievance meetings
  • Supporting labour relations activities ensuring adherence to the CBA
  • Liaising with union members/representatives
  • Acting as an advisor to divisional managers on all HR related matters
  • Investigating workplace accidents, responding to H&S related inquiries, and participating as a member of the joint H&S committee
  • Promoting health and safety programs and campaigns
  • Supporting employee recognition initiatives and social activities
  • Staying up to date on provincial and national labour laws and health and safety standards
Who you are:
  • You have a degree or diploma in HR or other relevant discipline
  • You have or are pursuing your CPHR certification
  • You have a minimum of three years' experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment with involvement in collective bargaining.
  • You have expertise in BC employment and health and safety legislation
  • You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • You have strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll system is an asset
  • You have a valid driver's license.
