Key Account Manager -OCS and Key Independents

Our client is a cannabis superstar that has undergone tremendous growth in 2020. To support their future performance, they are seeking a strong Key Account Manager to join their team to handle the account business of the OCS and the large independent chain accounts. The KAM will become the most trusted Cannabis partner within the retailer’s account portfolio.

Reporting to the Director of Key Accounts, this role focuses on influencing consumer purchasing decisions and accelerating the rate of sale at retail to drive top and bottom-line performance. You will build strong relationships, implement fact-based selling and insight-driven category solutions to drive sales performance.

Some of what you will do includes:
  • Manage all Key Partners (retailers/government bodies) in Ontario
  • Develop and implement an integrated account plan based on analysis and strategic alignment
  • Develop joint business plans with customers. Build annual operating plans and agreements
  • Work closely with Field Sales, Brand and Store Marketing, Category Management, Revenue Management, and Supply Chain
  • Implement standard customer dashboards and take corrective and proactive action where required (volume, share, price, brand portfolio)
  • Leverage POS data to bring forward actionable insights that drive a health cannabis category
  • Work closely with Revenue Management to deliver optimal price and promotion capability in an effort to maintain healthy market dynamics and overall profitably
  • Work in conjunction with the Territory Managers to effectively lead industry and brand education sessions with key customers and their staff
  • Identify new distribution opportunities and build partnerships that maximize sustainable and profitable volume driving initiatives
  • Reduce cost and complexity
You should have the following in your background to apply:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience in Sales, Account Management, Category Management, or Trade Marketing
  • A passion for Cannabis
  • Proven track record in achieving sales quotas and in-store condition KPI’s targets
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • A technologically savvy individual who is comfortable working in a data-driven environment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand all aspects of the company balance sheet, P&L, and budgets
