Our client is a recognized leader in the food and beverage industry. They have asked Sean Baker of MacDonald Search Group to help them to find an accomplished, driven and experienced Maintenance Planner for their Calgary facility.

As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating schedules, materials and labor needed to ensure the organization’s physical assets are maintained. The right person will be responsible for ensuring all day to day and planned preventative maintenance requirements are met through ongoing leadership in the service and maintenance of all equipment and critical systems within the plant.

In addition, you will:
  • Plan and schedule the preventative maintenance program
  • Build strong relationships with the staff within the plant as well as external customers
  • Conduct job costing activities and track annual maintenance budgets
  • Become the key point of contact between maintenance, engineering and production teams
  • Discuss long term plant objectives and be part of strategic maintenance plans
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement initiatives in plant processes
  • Coordinate activities of third-party contractors
  • Work with supply chain & procurement to ensure materials, spare parts are on hand for jobs and to ensure lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Minimize waste and plant mechanical downtime

To qualify for this role, you will have:
  • A minimum of 5 years in a maintenance planning or you have worked in the trades within a maintenance department.
  • Preferably experience from a batch or continuous line, plant manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with the CMMS function of SAP or similar maintenance software
  • Experience in developing goals, priorities and expectations and action plans and strategies based on organization needs
  • A proven record of execution of preventative and systematic maintenance programs
  • The ability to prepare and present recommendations to coworkers and decision makers
    extremely strong organizational and analytical skills
  • The suitable candidate must be organized, well-spoken and familiar with working in a fast pace environment
