MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Our Client is a true west coast success story. They started as a small industrial food manufacturing company 30 years ago today they have grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of quality food products. Their attention to detail, quality and product development separate them from their competitors. As they continue to grow, they are looking to add a Maintenance Supervisor to their team. In the role as Maintenance Supervisor you will ensure that business goals are achieved and the management's organizational strategy is implemented within the Maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage the key maintenance department activities across all shifts.
  • Coordinate with all staff to identify and issue appropriate job assignments.
  • Establish computerized preventive maintenance schedules to minimize major breakdowns and lost production time.
  • Provide feedback and support to department staff, including weekly meetings focused on safety and performance.
  • Regularly review and revise plans for PM activity, department scheduling and training.
  • Provide emergency response to maintenance items as required.
  • Ensure that all safety standards and production GMP standards are communicated, posted and adhered to.
  • Creatively help to solve problems while contributing to team building in a C.I. environment.
Requirements:
  • Journeyman Red seal status as Millwright and/or Electrician
  • Power Engineer is an asset
  • Minimum Grade 12 GED and post-secondary technical training.
  • Experience in a food processing environment is an asset.
  • Experience managing a workforce within a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of "Best practices " for maintenance coordination and supervision.
  • Experience interacting with outside contractors and OEM
  • 3 to 5 years minimum in a previous maintenance management position, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
