Opportunity!

Our partner is a Canadian Manufacturer & Distributor in the electrical related space. Due to significant growth in their business they are seeking an Operations/Inventory leader to drive the back end of their business while creating and building out process improvements throughout the organization with a solutions mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality controls and monitor production and inventory KPIs. Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant as per WSIB and local H&S requirements.
  • Formulate strategic and tactical operational and inventory objectives. Find ways to increase quality of internal and external customer service.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability. Manage budgets and support inventory forecast reviews.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, but above all lead and coach staff and teams for improved performance and service. Prepare labor plans using productivity monitors to ensure maximum productivity of staff.
  • Manage and execute our Inventory Management Programme. Cycle Counts, Physical Inventory, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, Velocity Slotting plans, Coaching staff, Aged inventory review and strategy, forecasts, financial impacts summary for controller, etc.
  • Improve operational management systems, standard operating procedures and best practices. Prepare and provide leadership with regular reports and KPI’s on labor productivity and inventory management effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of proven work experience as Operations / Inventory Manager or similar role.
  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, or APICS designation.
  • Experience with NetSuite or other ERP, and WMS systems mandatory.
  • Experience implementing an RF system would be an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft excel / data collection / analysis.
  • Proven knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience budgeting, forecasting, and labor planning.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven work experience leading teams with excellent leadership skills.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial mindset where ownership is involved with the day to day business would be an asset.
