Outplacement Consultant

Due to expansion in their services, our client is seeking an Outplacement Consultant to join their team based out of their Vancouver office. This specialist human resources role will have varied responsibilities related to easing the transition for outplaced employees made redundant from their previous employment. In this role you will work with client organizations in planning, structuring and delivering thoughtfully prepared separation agreements. As the first contact point for the released employee, you will provide support and training services to enhance their career or prepare them for a transition. Coaching may be provided in a one on one or group basis. Executive career coaching may be offered to employees who want to switch roles or industries.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Coach client’s line managers in the legally appropriate and empathetic release of an employee
  • Conduct intake and motivational interviews with outplaced employees
  • Provide professional assessments to the outplaced candidate with a structured series of task or objectives for them to work on while they are in career transition (resume, Linkedin, interview skills etc.)
  • Assist in the development of new resume and Linkedin collateral
  • Conduct individual and group training / coaching on resume creation, interview and job skills
  • Conduct mock interviews, interview preparation, offer evaluation and salary negotiation coaching
  • Leverage networks to assist candidates in their career transition
  • Collect marketing intelligence and analytical information on job and industry trends

In order to apply for this role you should have the following in your background:
  • A post secondary degree, Bachelor’s is a minimum requirement
  • Certification in Coaching or Human Resources
  • A highly developed EQ and ability to provide empathetic consultative experience to clients and outplaced employees
  • Excellence in writing
  • Strong analytical skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years corporate experience in any commercial, operational or support function
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), listening, multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent rapport building skills a natural ability to make clients feel cared about
  • Strong sense of empathy, positive outlook, ability to motivate others
  • Strong skills in MS Office and an ATS or CRM
