Parts & Service Manager

Our client has a fantastic reputation around the world as an OEM for their innovative specialized equipment and tremendous after purchase service. They have asked Sean Baker of MacDonald Search Group to assist them to recruit an exceptional person for the role of Parts and Service Manager for their location south of Edmonton, Alberta.

Reporting to a Director of Parts and Service, you will be responsible for managing a team of parts and service staff in the daily administrative, field service and customer service parts shipping activities. We are looking for a seasoned leader with previous customer facing experience, managing department P&L, preparing budgets, providing service training, labor and materials planning, and ensuring customers are receiving top notch service.

Additionally, you will:
  • Work with other stake holders within the company to improve corporate client relationships.
  • Hire, train, motivate and manage staff in order to improve customer service and help expand the business.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Promote safety and environmental responsibility within the operation.
  • Build team culture and strive to ensure the parts and service is the best in the industry.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Parts and Service Manager or Supervisor role from a dealer or industrial equipment, agricultural or heavy equipment type of operation.
  • Strong mechanical ability supported by possibly previous experience as a technician
  • Solid people leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Ability to use information to make confident decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in making sound decisions.
This role will be required to travel to the United States periodically for customer service visits, training or to attend conferences and industry events.
