Our client, a recognized leader in their industry has asked Sean Baker of MacDonald Search Group to assist them in their search for a Plant General Manager at their Winnipeg, Manitoba location. The person selected for this role will be responsible for leading strategy development and tactical implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safety, quality, financial well-being and total output of the site. They will foster a positive team spirit through collaborative management methods.
Responsibilities:
- Develop both tactical and strategic plans for people, facility and equipment.
- Lead functional managers and supervisors in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Promote and ensure a safe work environment and a safety conscious work force
- Create an atmosphere that encourages employees to use their own initiative and to perform to their fullest capabilities
- Coordinate continuous improvement programs and measure progress by establishing standards of performance
This role requires a high degree of flexibility, we are looking for an individual that is comfortable and confident walking the plant floor while also capable of taking part in senior level planning.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years senior management experience in a high output manufacturing environment
- Experience from batch production, food or beverage manufacturing
- Degree preferred – MBA, Engineering, Business or Supply Chain
- Successful track record of continuous improvement program implementation, people development, capital spending and leading a diverse team
- Strong understanding of business financials and budgets
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
