Our Client is a global and well-established manufacturer that works with prestigious brands worldwide. Due to a recent promotion, they have asked Sean Baker of MacDonald Search Group to help them recruit a Plant Manager for their Calgary location.
As a Plant Manager, you are responsible for all things related to production, quality, warehousing and logistics as well as maintenance. You will ensure safety is number one while working with your team to create a productive top-notch facility. Aspects of your role will also focus on productivity, continuous improvement, maximizing equipment utilization and ensuring proper maintenance, budget development and cost management.
As the Plant Manager, you are specifically accountable for:
- Maintaining and overseeing the operation to ensure the compliance with the safety, organization and environmental policies
- Managing the overall financial standards of the plant, including creating and managing the annual budget.
- Planning, organizing and reviewing the production process to ensure organizational objectives are achieved, while keeping costs to a minimum.
- Meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPI) through analysis of data, identify areas of improvement and act upon them as required.
- Providing leadership and communication guidance to team members to ensure the work environment is based on teamwork, trust, confidence and accountability
IDEAL CANDIDATE: This is a senior level role, which requires the ability for one to lead a team in a fast paced changing environment.
To succeed in the senior level Plant Manager role, one must:

The ideal candidate will have:
- 10 + years of experience working in a leadership role within a continuous line or batch production manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining a highly capitalized and complex manufacturing operation.
- Proven experience in managing people and priorities in a unionized environment.
