PROCESS ENGINEER

As the Process Engineer, will be responsible for the set up of a new facility and direct engineering functions, to meet company objectives for new product development and improvement of existing product lines. In this role will be responsible for the development of production processes sourcing and modification of equipment, manufacture of samples, and leading new equipment trials. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead identification, design, development, testing and qualification of process systems.
• Lead process technical assessments and scale-up tests at manufacturing locations.
• Identify and lead collaboration efforts to improve efficiency, reduce risk and minimize costs.
• Provide input to management for budgets and timing for equipment and processing projects.
• Track and monitor processes, including cycle times, scrap performance, efficiency, etc.
• Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports.

Working with the Manufacturing and Quality teams, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development to ensure all components and process systems are capable of producing and sustaining safe and stable products.

• Prepare reports, analysis and charts as required for process and production operations.
• Write and revises processing parameters as required
• Work closely R&D team to attain short and long-term product development goals.
• Conduct pilot-scale experiments and test new equipment at various vendors.
• Train R&D team, manufacturing operations, process development on new equipment; prepare SOPs as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in project management, manufacturing, and food processing required
• Dairy or food industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite
• Possess Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status.
• Able to travel for work assignments
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills.
