Product Sales Specialist - Protein Based Products

Our client is an outstanding supplier to food service and hospitality accounts across the province. To support their sales team, they are seeking a talented and skilled Sales Specialist to join their team. This role marries your unique background in culinary arts with the sales process.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Provide and promote business solutions and sales support to drive sales, penetration and overall market share
  • Provide problem analysis and resolution to customers and Sales Representatives on product opportunities and related concerns
  • Provide insights, product information to the Marketing and Sales teams, and ensure the success of customer events and business improvements for both the customer and company
  • Drive performance across the category including sales growth, category penetration and competitive pricing
  • Ensure consistent and relevant product training for sales teams
  • Provide product support, insights, division and customer relationship management training, and engagement to help support business growth
  • Support product category conversions to increase market share and profitability, and identify new item sales opportunities with new and existing customers working with Sales Representatives
  • Demonstrate product use/menu applications to customers
  • Research local trends, marketing intelligence, customer feedback and provide guidance to support our sales force and customers
  • Participate in the execution of food shows, other related shows, and activities in support of the product category
In order to apply, you should have the following in your background:
  • Exceptional customer service and sales skills
  • Proficient communication skills ‐ both written and verbal ‐ to communicate effectively with a broad‐based team including diverse internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of restaurant / food service operations
  • Proven ability to deliver results and facilitate a collaborative environment
  • Ability to develop creative food solutions
  • Strong product category experience and knowledge is an asset
  • Bachelor Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or a related field preferred
  • Three to five years of sales experience in consultative capacity
