Our client, a successful Tier 1 Original Equipment Manufacturer, supplies complex pieces of equipment to the Energy and Mining industries. In order to support their growth, they are looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to join their Calgary team.
We are looking for someone with prior experience across the full scope of procurement with excellent ability in material costing and product sourcing. Specifically, you will be responsible to work closely with design, engineering and offshore manufacturing to understand and develop the specifications for package builds. You will prepare plans and follow purchased components to ensure they are available at the right time, to the right location.
Do you meet and exceed the qualifications below?
We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years of experience in procurement with an industrial manufacturing or fabricating type operation. Specifically, you have:
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with knowledge of steel fabricating, pneumatics, electrical, pumps, valves, hoses etc.
- Solid research and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience dealing with a global supply chain with offshore manufacturing.
- Bring strong negotiation and influencing ability.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Exposure to holding suppliers accountable for quality
- Have a positive, can-do attitude and approach to problem solving with urgency for completing tasks.
- Completed or in the process of completing a degree or diploma in supply chain or your SCMP.
- Possess excellent time management, project management skills and have the ability to maintain workflow while multitasking.
This is not a people leadership role; we are looking for someone that likes to be in the trenches conducting all kinds of purchasing and supply chain activities.
