Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) – Premium Spirits
Manitoba & Saskatchewan

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for our client's Manitoba & Saskatchewan premium spirits portfolio in regards to the overall planning and execution of marketing activities and the sales results of each of the spirit brands in the portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The RMM will report to the Manitoba Sales Manager and will work in close collaboration and coordination with the other RMM’s, the Client's National Brand Manager and Market Directors. The position requires frequent evening work in addition to the normal daytime related job functions which are split between both in and out of the office requirements. Additionally, the RMM will also be required from time to time to work weekends at specific events. A moderate level of domestic and international travel is also incumbent with this position.

  • Develop the provincial marketing plans for Manitoba & Saskatchewan for all Premium spirit brands consistent with the guidelines provided by the National/International Brand Marketing, complete monthly status reports, provide market updates as required;
  • Liaise with the Sales Manager and the Man/Sask sales team and champion the demand and supply forecasts and Latest Estimate (LE’s) for Premium spirit brands, pricing recommendations and implementation strategies with the sales team;
  • Define the core portfolio spirit brands strategic account lists for on-premises, retail, and boutique accounts with the sales team and ensure that quarterly updates of listing status are maintained;
  • Determine with the sales team the required input resources to be allocated to core and targeted on and off premises accounts and track spending plans versus planned objectives;
  • Implement and measure the effectiveness of regional PR, marketing activities, and event strategies that reflect National brand orientations;
  • Responsible for the overall Advertising and Promotion (A&P) budget for Premium spirits brand spending in the region, ensuring the proper monitoring of all A&P spends and corrective actions when required;
  • Responsible for product knowledge and training of their provincial sales team, accounts, targeted high-net worth-individual groups, or other clients of the portfolio of brands.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or higher, Marketing, Business Administration majors preferred, or 3 or more years job experience directly relevant to the industry.
  • English language skills a must; Bilingual French, an asset.
  • Strong presentation and negotiating skills for diverse audiences;
  • Available for frequent evening and weekend events (sometimes on short notice), both local and international travel – valid passport required;
  • Strong analytical, organisation and multi-tasking capabilities, able to meet tight deadlines;
  • Intermediate to high level of IT related skills, strong PowerPoint and Excel knowledge and able to master a working knowledge of the client's Business Intelligence tools;
  • Proven analytical skills and experience in managing major budgets and large scale marketing projects;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, negotiate, make presentations, and work as a team player with a diverse universe of related parties is a must;
  • A flair for creative thinking and innovation in developing brand or customer business solutions;
  • Established trade contacts both on and off premises are a plus;
  • Valid Canadian Passport
  • Valid Driver’s License
