Are you a Logistics professional that is looking for a new exciting opportunity? Our client has experienced substantial growth over the last couple of years and has realized the need for a tried and true transportation expert to join their Calgary team.

As the Regional Routing Manager for this incredibly well-known company you will lead a small team in Calgary, Alberta to analyze systems driven routes, apply common sense along with logistics knowledge to maximize space, minimize mileage and improve overall productivity of equipment and drivers. You will work closely with the Regional Transportation Manager on both long-term strategic plans and guiding your team to make tactical decisions to change and improve day to day activities.

In this role you will;

  • Lead a team making routing decisions, transportation analytics, freight costing and value metrics
  • Understand the role of logistics and its impact to meeting business goals
  • Assist in interpreting logistical needs in relation to long term forecasts and demand plans.
  • Work with stakeholders as the scope of services grows and transportation needs shift

Specifically, the successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and communication skills both verbal and written with effective computer experience.
  • Bring strong negotiation and influencing ability.
  • Prior expertise in a wide spectrum of Transportation activity including but not limited to milk run or multi-stop routing, service and freight cost analysis, volume planning, presenting recommendations at a senior level, long term asset planning.
  • Possess excellent time management, project management skills and have the ability to maintain workflow while multitasking.
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and approach to problem solving with urgency for completing tasks.
  • Flexibility to work the required hours to get the job done
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent certification such as CITT or P-Log, along with a minimum of 5 years mid-level logistics decision making and experience.
