A leading Vancouver-based food manufacturing company—built on a strong import model and selling into more than 50 countries worldwide—is seeking a Sales Director to drive commercial success across key accounts in both Canada and the United States. This is an opportunity to represent a category-leading portfolio, deepen strategic retail partnerships, and collaborate closely on trade marketing initiatives that strengthen brand presence and accelerate growth.
This role is designed for a commercially minded CPG sales professional who understands national account management, category dynamics, and the nuances of selling into major retailers, distributors, and large-format banners. You'll work in tandem with marketing to develop trade programs, promotions, and in-store execution that reflect the brand's evolution and support long-term market leadership. As the business continues to grow, the role will evolve to include broader strategic planning and new market development opportunities.
The ideal candidate is analytical, relationship-focused, and highly collaborative, with experience selling consumer packaged goods within the Canadian market—and ideally into the U.S. as well. This role is based full-time in the Vancouver head office.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
- Lead sales strategy and execution for key retail accounts across Canada and the U.S., including major grocery, mass, specialty, and distributor partners.
- Develop annual sales plans, promotional calendars, and category strategies that support volume growth and profitability targets.
- Work closely with marketing to create and activate trade marketing initiatives, including promotional campaigns, in-store programming, point-of-sale materials, and new retail concepts.
- Build strong customer relationships through regular business reviews, sell-in presentations, joint business planning, and category insights.
- Analyze market trends, syndicated data, competitive activity, and customer performance to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance to ensure accurate forecasting, effective inventory management, and alignment on pricing, margins, and service expectations.
- Support new product launches by partnering with marketing and operations on pricing, channel strategy, retailer presentations, and execution plans.
- Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings across North America.
- Experience in consumer packaged goods sales, ideally within food or beverage.
- A proven track record of managing and growing key accounts within the Canadian retail landscape; U.S. account experience is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of category management, promotional planning, and retail execution.
- Experience collaborating on trade marketing programs and working closely with marketing teams.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical ability to interpret sales data, category insights, and market trends.
- Ability to work from the Vancouver head office full-time.
