The Business Development Manager is responsible for the delivery of the annual revenue target determined in collaboration with the Sales Director to ensure continual sales growth of existing customers and new business.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Achieve and/or exceed target sales as outlined in the budget
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, ensuring continued sales opportunities are available
  • Provide sales support on a provincial basis
  • Lead and/or participate in contract negotiations
  • Develop good working relationships with sales staff in the field
  • Measure and track retention, sales, and call frequency results, and provide constructive feedback
  • Advise sales representatives on techniques to improve their sales performance
  • Answer customer inquiries about products and services
  • Responsible to ensure customer service levels are met by the sales team
  • Promoting and specification of products through Architects; Engineers and Designers

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in sales management
  • Post-secondary education, preferably industry or business related
  • Previous success managing customer communications & relationships and providing strong customer service
  • Strong leadership (coaching and mentoring) abilities
  • Industry knowledge required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good business acumen, financial/analytical skills
  • Self-motivation and creativity
  • Strong presentation, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly relevant in managing customer accounts
  • Experience in dealing with Architects/Engineers/Designers
