Executive Brief:
Sales & Operations Manager

For over 60 years, our client has been providing pumps, water treatment systems, filtration products and service to provide safe water to their customers. To ensure expertise and quality service, they are the only company in the industry to have all service technicians certified through the Water Quality Association.
Due to rapid growth over the past few years, they are adding an Operations Manager to the team.
We are looking for someone to provide inspired leadership for the operation of the organization’s key function – Sales and Service! If you are an experienced leader with integrity and a hands-on style, this might be the opportunity that you have been looking for.


Some of what you will do in the role of Sales & Operations Manager:

  • Ensure the creation & implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business
  • Oversee daily operation of the business unit and organization during the President’s absence
  • Act as a hand-on manager developing, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Engage in key or targeted customer activities and generate sales opportunities
  • Participate in the hiring of Operations employees
  • Work with the Inventory Manager to ensure best pricing & purchasing efficiency
  • Monitor operations throughout the company & look for ways to improve productivity
  • Assist Service Technicians and Dispatch to ensure efficiencies are realized in job planning and execution
  • Continue to develop and refine SOPs
Some of the Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan & organize sales strategy by identifying customer segments & allocating resources to win business
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, train and support staff and help them meet their goals
  • Be aware of market conditions and work with sales staff to ensure competitiveness to help win profitable business
  • Have a working understanding of all products and offerings
  • Ensure maintenance of an organized work environment while promoting a culture of safety
  • Lead monthly JHSE meetings

What is required for this role:

  • Degree in business/marketing, trades or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in pumps and water treatment industry
  • Experience with people and project management
  • Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, customer service, logistics, purchasing & quality assurance
  • Dynamic, flexible, goal-oriented and results-focused leadership
  • Vison for change and the ability to strategically and tactically make it happen in a team environment
