Sales Specialist - GTA

Our client is the global leader in measuring devices to laboratories, education, institutions, production facilities, and retail stores. They manufacture, sell, and service instruments that detect measure, and weigh - from the infinitely small to the largest of vehicles or airplanes. They are currently seeking an Sales Specialist based in Toronto, ON.

In this role, you will support and sell core lab products including weighing, electrochemistry, and instrumentation, and will support both direct customer and various sales channel partners within the defined territory. Overall, you will ensure increased revenue and profitability for the company through effective sales activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Growing sales and achieving targets for the product line by working together with our national distribution partners and directly with our customers
  • Organizing and scheduling time to effectively cover the assigned territory
  • Maintaining established planning, administrative, and reporting through existing CRM and other systems
  • Maintaining inventory of demo-related items and demo budgets
  • Conduct on-site seminars
  • Maintaining the highest level of integrity while building long-term relationships
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Worked in sales with at least 3-5 years of related experience in scientific instruments or capital equipment
  • Led accounts and maintained relationships with a distribution network
  • Experience training and developing the skills of others
  • Established yourself as a trusted leader with vision in a related field by analyzing customer problems, mastering product knowledge, and differentiating from the competition
  • The discipline to maintain a customer relationship management (CRM) system daily and complete necessary weekly reports
  • A BS or BA in the natural sciences preferred, or business/marketing with an emphasis on chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, biochemistry, or neuroscience
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to create trust with customers and synergy with dealers
  • Experience using SAP's CRM system would be a plus
