Our client is a world-class automation control solutions provider, looking for a Senior Controls Designer. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, a successful candidate will be capable of undertaking the following responsibilities.

Review all available materials related to assigned projects (proposals, specifications, emails, etc.).
Attend project kick-off meetings, and vendor discussions, and assist as required, etc.
Discuss the desired project design “approach/philosophy” with all stakeholders.
Interpret and create drawings, technical manuals, specifications, and regulations.
Create/modify P&IDs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and instrument location drawings.
Create/modify single-line diagrams, loop drawings, communication drawings, and control room layouts as needed.
Create/modify instrumentation lists, IO lists, cable lists, and IP address lists.
Release project packages to production for assembly.
Meet with customers to discuss project details.
Provide guidance and support to junior controls designers.
Travel to project sites and/or customer sites to gather project information.
Learn ISO/standards as they apply to your position.
Suggest and implement cost-saving opportunities.
8-10 years of experience as a controls engineer, with progressive and varied industry experience.

Required: Proficiency with EPlan Electric P8/Pro Panel.
Location - SW Ontario.
