Software Sales Representative – Dental Practice

Our client is a market leader in dental software for the effective management of dental practices. With a product portfolio of two primary software products and a secondary bundle of services, your role will be to become a valued support to target and existing clients in your geographic territory of Western Canada. This role is home based, client office based and has support of the local regional offices and sales teams. The position can be based in any major city in Western Canada.

Reporting to the North American Director of Sales, You can anticipate spending your day providing clients with in-practice demonstrations, branch seminars, tradeshows, web-based presentations and supporting them by phone and email. You will be responsible for continuously sourcing and closing new business, hitting sales targets, and embracing the challenges that come with outbound prospecting in a competitive market. You’ll leverage a CRM to develop and grow your book of business and proactively reach out to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Develop and manage a specific product line within a territory, increasing market share as a primary objective by identifying, cultivating and closing opportunities while directly supporting customers with all resources available and respond in a timely fashion to customer concerns and/or opportunities
  • Remain knowledgeable on company product offerings to facilitate sales efforts
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from sourcing a client to finalizing a deal
  • Source new sales opportunities by networking with assigned clients and turning them into long term partnerships
  • Present products to prospective clients
  • Provide professional after-sales support to enhance the customers’ dedication
  • Remain in frequent contact with the clients in your territory to understand their needs
  • Respond to complaints, aiming for customer satisfaction and the preservation of the company’s reputation
  • Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data
  • Prepare sales action plans and schedules
  • Develop sales proposals and present sales contracts
  • Maximize sales opportunities by participating in dental conventions, sales events and seminars
  • Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
  • Follow up on all sales leads including those generated through marketing initiatives and social media campaigns
  • Coordinate with designated inside sales and customer service TSMs
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
  • Co-travel with other sales team members for product demonstrations and other sales initiatives
  • Lead in the development of small seminars with a focus on product
    • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
    • Support the creation and execution of local sales events
    • Plan, organize and implement effective strategies using all company programs,
    tools and initiatives to increase market share
    • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
    • Ensure compliance with CRM Salesforce updating, monitor and report on sales
    activities and follow up with management
You should have the following in your background to apply:
  • Post secondary education
  • 3+ years experience selling a software service-based product in a highly consultative manner
  • Professional sales training such as Challenger Method, SPIN Selling or other
  • Clean(ish) drivers abstract and ability to travel freely through the territory
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem solving ethic with excellent critical decision making skills
  • Ability to effectively develop, leverage, systemize and analyze data and CRM content
  • High degree of ethical integrity and professional presentation
