Solutions Specialist

Responsible for serving laboratory researchers engaged in academic, biomedical, chemical, and other fields of research and development, as well as quality assurance labs such as in food and environmental testing. Strong focus on the different industries and which products fall into each division is necessary. The Sales specialist develops opportunities for growth, maintains high customer satisfaction, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Expand and create new opportunities for sales from an existing client database.
  • Must be skilled and with the ability to communicate in person, phone, e-mail and social media.
  • Present products effectively so that the customer realizes the benefit(s) and ROI.
  • Capable and willing to do in-field product demonstrations.
  • Become knowledgeable of products offered by our client.
  • Identify and properly qualify business opportunities.
  • Use a CRM and Weekly Report to record sales call activity, proposals and opportunity tracking.
  • Must be a highly driven and self-starter with the ability to meet weekly/monthly goals.
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills with the focus to produce results
  • Ability to visit customer daily and will involve some overnights in the assigned territory
  • Must be skilled in Information Technology and communication platforms.
  • Ability to close and negotiate potential sales
  • Work closely with supervisor any customer issues, problems and competitor information


  • Minimum: 2-5 years’ experience required. Preferably in the Research Laboratory Industry.
  • Bachelor of Sciences Degree preferred
  • Experience in Field sales process
  • Ability to travel within and out of territory as required. Will involve overnights.
  • Highly motivated to meet weekly/monthly productivity goals and incentives.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven record of establishing goals and achieving results.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, communication and presentation skills
  • Builds rapport easily
  • Organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Must be fluent in English and preferably in French both verbally and written
