TECHNICAL ACCOUNT MANAGER


Our client is a Distributor and Manufacturer of Mechanical and Building Insulation products used for Thermal, Acoustic and Fire Protection applications in the Commercial, Industrial, Marine and OEM markets. They are seeking a Technical Account Manager located in Edmonton, Alberta


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grow share of assigned key accounts in territory/market.
  • Build a strong and evolving relationship between key accounts and identify customer needs.
  • Call on all current and potential customers in the assigned territory and other areas upon request
  • Assist in improving vendor relationships.
  • Maintain effective work relationships within the company and with key accounts.
  • Quote jobs for customers (under management guidelines) including determining the cost of material, submittals, estimating, providing material specs and pricing to the customer.
  • Review customer pricing considering customer requirements and competitive situations. Make changes to pricing when necessary taking into consideration management’s guidelines with the goal of maximizing gross margins.
  • Develop and maintain effective work relationships internal/external.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of job tracking and follow-up program as required.
  • Follow up on sales in the office including some inside sales activity.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years sales experience is required.
  • Experience in Building Material/Construction Distribution or B2B preferred.
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business or related discipline an asset.
  • Motivated, self-starter able to drive business independently while being a team player
  • Strong communication skills, both written and orally.
  • Ability to uncover customer needs and find product benefits to satisfy customer needs.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Thorough product and systems knowledge preferred
