Technical Outside Sales Representative

QULIFICATIONS:
  • Have 5+ years of technical sales experience selling industrial equipment or services.
  • Proven track record in new business development — prospecting, developing business relationships, and account management.
  • Writing and delivering proposals and quotes,
  • Proven track record growing existing accounts and expanding to additional divisions, as well as growing the share of wallet of services they buy.
  • Possessing an Instrumentation/ Electrical Diploma or Degree (or equivalent experience) is nice to have.
  • Be self-starting, and extremely well organized
  • Superior Communication Skills (both written and verbal)
  • Be able to multi-task
  • Possess excellent time management abilities
  • Be open to new ideas
Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appointments, obtain new accounts, maintain existing accounts to determine current requirements, as well as explore further opportunities.
  • Attend and participate in conferences and trade shows
  • Attend group sales meetings concerning sales targets and/or forecasts
  • Work effectively with the Central Region Manager to determine budget levels and provide data.
  • Participate fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other departments within Thermo-Kinetics (Purchasing, Production, Inside Sales, etc.) as well as principals to ensure delivery/ product commitments to their Customers are met.
  • Make joint sales calls with principals at scheduled times
  • Keep weekly expense records
  • Travel within the assigned territory
  • Keep timely and up to date information using the CRM to assist in opportunity, growth, maintaining and order tracking of accounts, as well as reporting purposes
  • Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information
