Territory Manager - Vancouver Island

Our client is a leader in the natural foods space. In order to handle their established and growing Vancouver Island business, they are seeking a strong customer service focused Territory Manager to handle their retail store and Island banner business. This position will have geographic responsibility for all of Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate is based out of Greater Victoria.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential customers
  • Ensure monthly sales targets are met and prepare action plans to meet those targets
  • Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a combination of fact based and relationship based selling
  • Upsell company products at all customers to maximize sales
  • Work to secure off shelf displays
  • Work with customers to set and execute approved promotions/ads programs
  • Work with customers to execute suggested retail price based on final customer decision
  • Make presentations to existing and prospective customers
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and customer service
  • Communicate new product opportunities, special developments, information, feedback gathered through field activity
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions
  • Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock
  • Complete management requests accurately and in a timely manor
  • Maintain regular customer call cycles as identified by the manager
  • Create and manage a customer information document for existing customers highlighting profile, share and opportunities
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers value to the organization
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy to maximize time management within the territory
  • Provide management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services within the territory
  • Ensures our products are shelved in the best possible shelf location and works to maintain key shelf position at all calls
  • Ensure products are priced as per directions from Head Office (with final discretion by the customer) and works to address/correct any discrepancies
  • Ensure proper product rotation of all products at each call
  • Maintain current and updated pricing lists
You should have the following in your background to apply:
  • CPG sales experience on Vancouver Island
  • Clean(ish) drivers abstract and ability to travel freely up and down the Island as required
  • Excellent presentation skills and an interest in better for you food products
  • Post secondary education
