Senior Vice President and General Manager

Our client is a leader in the consumer products space with a fast growing sales, merchandising and distribution model for premium food products. Representing the highest quality brands, this role is an opportunity to drive the performance of this excellent, well positioned manufacturer.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Oversees daily business activities of the organization including sales, marketing, finance, HR, and operations
  • Evaluate and improve overall business functions and activities
  • Enhance the corporate culture with your creative energy and leadership
  • Managing budgets, optimize expenses
  • Strategic planning, goal setting
  • Regular communication around business goals
  • Update policies and processes if/when needed
  • Work with HR in recruitment and training
  • Ensure health & safety regulations are being followed
  • Prepare activity reports to finance and upper management
  • Ensure employees are working productively and professionally
  • Work closely with company and divisional controller to maximize financial returns
To apply you should have the following in your background:
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive position
  • Retail Food Perishables preferred
  • Strong business management skills, knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • A solid background in Sales/Marketing
  • A proven track record in Sales Excellence
  • Strong sales planning, analytics and execution
  • Strong decision making skills, and analytical ability
  • Organizational and Leadership skills
  • Problem solving aptitude
Must haves:
  • Post-secondary education or significant experience related to business
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing for reports and correspondence
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills
